Registered Dental Hygienist, part time.

Job Overview
Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our mobile dental hygiene practice.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental hygiene care, educating patients on oral health and connection to overall health. and supporting the overall patient experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly, patient-focused environment where your skills and expertise will make a meaningful difference in patients' oral health.   Part-time position, 1-2 days per week to start with opportunity for more hours as the practice grows. 

Location:

  • Various retirement homes and Long-term care facilities in Ottawa and surrounding areas.

Job Benefits:

  • Work alongside a dental assistant who cleans and sets up the treatment area, brings clients to and from appointments, and assists with documentation and charting.
  • Flexible schedule, full control of client treatment plan and appointment lengths, with no production pressure just a focus on quality care.
  • Full portable dental set up includes portable dental chair, air/water and ultrasonic scaler.

Responsibilities

  • Review medical histories prior to treatment
  • Perform dental hygiene care on site at seniors care facilities
  • Use of SDF and IST when indicated, full training provided
  • Educate patients, families and facility staff on proper oral hygiene practices and preventative care strategies
  • Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with CDHO standards
  • Address client questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy

Skills

  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Enjoy working with seniors
  • Bilingual abilities (FR/EN) are a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with patients, families and facility staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient comfort and education
