Speaker Bio:
 
Kathy Purves spent 17 years in the dental field, as a dental assistant, working in different provinces.  She obtained a B.A. from the Univ of Manitoba, and a B.Sc. from the Univ of Winnipeg. Kathy spent 27 years as a District Manager and IPAC specialist with Germiphene, a Canadian company based in Ontario, that specializes in IPAC products for the dental and medical field. Measles and Dental Settings

Event Description:

This presentation will summarize what measles is, what it looks like, it's complications, and who is at risk.
The history of measles in Canada both prior to and after the COVID-19 is also described. The session will finally go over case studies, describe how to manage people exposed to and infected with measles in a dental setting with an infection prevention lens and what these learnings can mean more broadly in application to respiratory infections.
