We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our family dental practice located on the Rideau River in Merrickville Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset with the ability to build good patient relationships and encourage continuing care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient comfort and preventive care, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with dentists and other staff members in a team-oriented environment.

Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, with a gentle touch
• Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventive care.
• Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Utilize Cleardent software for patient record management and appointment scheduling.
• Provide support and ensure a comfortable experience for all patients.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
• Stay updated on medical terminology and advancements in dental hygiene practices.
• Participate actively in the growth of the hygiene schedule.
• Recall/ Hygiene schedule management.

Qualifications

• Valid dental hygiene license in Ontario Canada.
• Experience working in a dental office setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with orthodontics is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cleardent or similar dental practice management software is advantageous.
